Makes the muscles numb

According to doctors, crossing the legs exerts pressure on the peroneal nerve at the back of your knee. If you can stay in that position for a long time, then it can cause permanent numbness of the muscles.

Nerve Palsy

Crossing your legs for a long time can result in a condition called peroneal nerve palsy. This condition results in something called foot drop. Over a period of time, this condition will make you unable to even lift your feet!

Raises your BP

Sitting in this condition can even raise your BP. Even though your BP dips to normal when you change positions, over a long period of time, it can result in BP problems as well.

Varicose veins

Sitting in this position over a long period of time can also cause your veins to loosen up and stretch, thus causing Varicose veins. These veins, apart from being ugly to look at can also be painful.
